Beachfront · Private beach area · Oceanfront pool
Studios, suites & villa with kitchens in the Mexican Caribbean
About the Property
Punta Piedra Studios is a small, family-run guest house on the east shore of Isla Mujeres, just steps from the beach. Every unit is one of a kind and reflects the spirit of the island: the rooms look out over the ocean, and the outdoor pool sits right on the waterfront.
Your hosts, Maya and Daniel — with an 8.4 host score on Booking — are a couple devoted to hospitality who know the island inside out and love sharing their favorite spots. Sea turtles nest on the beaches in this area: with a bit of luck you can watch hatchlings emerge and help release them into the sea.
What makes it special
The outdoor pool sits a few steps from the shore with the Caribbean as its backdrop. Guests mention it again and again in their reviews — it's the heart of the house.
The house faces east: the sun rises over the sea, right outside your window. Several reviews call out exactly that — "good sunrise views" from the room and the pool.
A private beach area for reading on a lounger, hunting for seashells and sea glass, and a common area to share a tropical drink at the end of the day.

Plan ahead
You can swim year-round in Isla Mujeres: the sea stays between 79 and 84 °F and daytime highs never drop below 82 °F. The dry season runs from November through April, with the sunniest stretch from mid-March to late May. From May to October it gets more humid, with short, intense afternoon showers; hurricane season runs June through November, most likely between August and October. The sweet spot is November: already dry season, and the minimum rate is still among the lowest of the year.
The cheapest months are September and October (2 nights from US$309 — about 40 % below the rest of the year), and November comes close (US$327) already in the dry season. From December through August the minimum rate we found stays flat at US$511 for 2 nights.
Several units are one of a kind — once a date is booked, there's no second one like it. Checking availability takes 2 minutes.
